Please bring dry nets!

Posted by: Sarah Thomson, 14th May 2015 16:03PM

We want to avoid dipping everyone's nets.  Keepnets are to be laid out behind your peg as usual and will be checked by the steward.  Once checked they can go in the lake.  Any damp nets will be dipped.

A huge thanks to the majority of anglers who are careful with drying their nets in order not to spread disease/virus/parasites.

(Edited by: Sarah Thomson, 5th May 2015 16:51PM)

Our qualifier for Fish-O-Mania is next Saturday 16th May.  Sorry, no day tickets that day but you are more than welcome to come along and see some of the stars in angling!

Pegs we’re using are pretty much the same as last year  – Match Lake (20 pegs), Pleasure Lake  (20 pegs), Top Lake (10 pegs), Colton (30 pegs), Railway (30 pegs) and Willow (20 pegs).  Details on the Lakes can be found by clicking here

Competitors will get a set of Match Rules at the draw – they haven’t changed much from last year but you can find them by clicking here

Food and Opening TImes

The gates will open at 7am and we’ll be serving breakfast in the cafe from then.

After match food this year are Burgers (with cheese, onion and relish), chips and BBQ Pulled pork with homemade coleslaw.  After match food served from 4pm.

Spare Tickets

With the new system in place there should be less no-shows this year.  If there are any spare tickets they will be allocated to reserves in order of the list, anyone not on the reserves list will be allocated after, in the order of who sees Mick first in the morning!  The draw is at 9am and spare tickets will be allocated at 10am.  Fishing from 11am - 4pm

Spectators Welcome

BUT... there are restrictions where you can watch from so please pop in at Barford first, you get a great view of the action from the car park at Barford and the cafe will be open until 12.30pm (longer if there’s people about eating so phone ahead if you need any food after 12.30pm).

Casters and Worm - Bait Orders

We have casters running – but please order to avoid disappointment – same with worm.  Caster are £3.20 and worm £20 a kilo, ½ kg - £11 and match packs are £6.  Will have plenty of maggot and dead red in the freezer, but a heads up would be appreciated.  Call on 01603 759624

Looking forward to it as ever!

There will be no day tickets on Saturday 16th May.. don't forget!
