Fishing in May, Steve Ringer came from nowhere and proved that a match can be won in the last hour and a half. Fishing on the Match Lake he noticed that most anglers were feeding pellet mid-water and observed the fish shying away from angler's poles, towards the middle of the lake.
He was also set back in a bit of a bay on peg 10, so Steve put a long line from his pole tip to float and fllicked a shallow rig out further to the middle. This proved successful and he qualified with 110lb.
