After a lovely beginning to the week with warm sunny spells it was all looking good for the weekend with big weights to be expected. But with the cold north eastily winds friday and tempertures dropping from 25 degrees to 12 degrees put the fish right off.
Congratulations to Dale Shepard for making the most of the room he had on Willow Peg 31 to make it to the Fisho Final with 91lb 14oz. Dale caught his weight on meat short catching f1's and Carp to 10lb.
Just missing out Local Angler Simon Elliot from Peg 19 Match lake weighed in 85lb 11oz all carp up to 13lb. Simon caught a few shallow on pellet and later in margins feeding groundbait with double worm on hook.

For a couple days
before the Qualifier it had rained non stop and temperature’s dropping
down to 0 - 1 degrees at night which was going to make the fishing very hard
but didn’t fish too bad considering the weather.
Congratulations
to Nathan Watson on Qualifying for the Fisho final off fancied peg 13 on
Pleasure Lake.
Nathan caught on the Pellet waggler to open water at 3ft - 6ft deep
fishing 8mm pellet on hook, lose feeding 8mm. Nathan caught steadily throughout
the day with fish up to 13lb for a total of 11 carp for 114lb. He only set up two pellet waggler rods so had decided his attack and stuck to it.
2nd
overall was Sam Collett on Top Lake peg 6 with carp to 10lb weighing
a total of 84lb 13oz. Sam caught on Pellet on the deck for first few hours
then paste down the margin.

wanted to avoid but Perry made the most of the room he had and weighed in 81lb
15oz with fish up to 10lb Perry caught on meat on the pole up the
margin feeding meat and pellet.

The next qualifier is on Saturday 14th May (no day tickets that day) and I believe there may be a few tickets left for sale. Tickets from the Angling Trust contact Sandra Drew on 0844 7700616.
Excited for our first FIsh O Mania qualifier this Saturday 16th April.
There's been a couple of rule changes so the rules on the website are currently not so current! Please click on the link below for the most recent rules.
2016 Match Rules
DRY NETS PLEASE
Please lay your nets out behind you when you arrive at your peg. Your nets will be checked and if the are wet you will be asked to dip them. Please make sure you dip them before the match if you haven't had time to dry them. Much prefered if you arrive with dry nets - many thanks for this. All virus, parasites and other nasty things die on dry nets.
If it's raining there will be an alternative arrangement in place which will be on display on arrival.
The Cafe
The cafe will be open from 7.15am and will be open all day. Full breakfasts and rolls on offer. There will be after match food of Brurgers, Chips, Sweet potatoe fries and Pulled pork and homemade coleslaw.
Spectators Welcome
You are welcome to come down and watch from the car park of the Match Lake and Pleasure Lake. We don't allow any walking round unless you're a steward so we'd apprecaite you gave the anglers the respect and room you'd expect yourself. We had a nice gathering of people in the car park last year though and it was a great atmosphere.
Roll on Saturday!!

We want to avoid dipping everyone's nets. Keepnets are to be laid out behind your peg as usual and will be checked by the steward. Once checked they can go in the lake. Any damp nets will be dipped.
A huge thanks to the majority of anglers who are careful with drying their nets in order not to spread disease/virus/parasites.
