Mel and George Ridley from Kettering had a successful first trip of the year.  They fished pegs 5 and 6 from 8am to about 6.30pm.

Despite the very windy conditions, particulary in the afternoon, and the rain in the morning, they still caught a few carp. Mel had 6 with the  biggest at 14lb whilst his Dad, George caught 4 including also one of 14lb and a 13lb carp with his very first cast of the day.

Marie visited the fishery on Wednesday and caught this 15lb 4oz mirror.  She was fishing on the pleasure lake on peg 31 using banded pellet about a foot below the surface.

After a 16 year mission to catch every carp, a coarse fishermen's dream Lee Smith finally managed to catch a 20lb carp on the pleasure lake, the fish in the picture weighed in at 20lb 8 and as you can imagine he was over the moon!.  It witnessed to verify the weight and Lee commented that the fish was in immaculate condition and had a huge belly of spawn hence the weight of it.  I'm pretty sure it's the biggest fish we have had out this year if not ever!

Lee was fishing on Peg 9 and fished the margin next to the inlet pipe.  The fish was one of 12 Lee had in a 3 hour period as he didn't catch for the first 3 hours of being there, but it just shows if you wait and feed the swim up eventually they will come on the feed.

Well done Lee!
