Opening for Day Tickets this weekend

We will be opening full time (except Mondays) for Day Tickets this weekend - Saturday 29th & Sunday 29th March 2008.
We open from 8am and tickets can be bought from the shop, before you start fishing.

This is the first match that will qualify for the accumulator league we will be running this year.

Awesome Weights on the Silver Fish Match

Tony Anderson (Browning Pownells) broke the record for the Silver Fish matches today. He had 81lb 13ozs!!! His catch was mainly skimmers and 6 tench. Tony was fishing Soft pellet on the bottom at 13 mts feeding Barford micro pellet.
The full result is as follows:

Burger Van Sorted for Sunday Charity Match

Don't have any breakfast on Sunday if you're coming to the charity match as we have the lovely ladies from Birchy's Burger van (normally at Sweet Briar Ind Estate) providing the catering in the morning and afternoon!!!

Lake Record goes on Match Lake

The lake record for a 5 hour match on Barford Match Lake was broken at the weekend by Warren Martin (Sensas/Barford Tackle) whilst fishing the pairs Gold & Silver Match. His partner and our shop manager Daniel Brydon was his partner and he fished for Silvers on the Pleasure Lake.
Warren in the meantime, who drew peg 23 on the Match Lake fished a pellet waggler towards the middle of the lake. The day was noticeably milder on Saturday and conditions were perfect.
Averaging a fish every 5 minutes, Warren fished a banded 6mm Barford Pellet on the hook (whilst feeding the same 6mm) fishing from depths ranging from 4' to 8'. He had carp to 10lb for a final weight of 316lb 14ozs.
The pair came second overall on the day - results of which to follow soon....
7.5lb Tench from the Pleasure Lake

Adrian West's been busy again! This time, along with some nice carp he landed this 7.5lb Tench. The carp pictured is 15lb! All on hair rigged corn.

The fish below weren't caught at Barford Lakes!! The gentleman pictured is Roger Harris (local photographer and regular match angler at Barford) after a recent river fishing trip with his pal and local angling legend Jim Randall.
From a secret stretch of the River Wensum, Roger reported it was the best Chub catch of his life!! He had up to 22 fish with the biggest being 5lb 8ozs.

19lb Common Carp

Adrian West (Taverham) caught this 19lb Common carp from our Pleasure Lake on peg 6. He was fishing a PVA bag loaded with 6mm Barford pellet and had hair rigged corn as hook bait.
Adrian now has the brace as he caught a 19lb Mirror carp the week before!!
